Paediatric Speech Therapist

Mediplacements are looking to recruit a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist for a locum position with our client in Cambridgeshire.

The pay for this position is £23-£28 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.

The post holder will:

• Provide advice and guidance
• Support schools to implement strategies

The post holder will not:

• Hold a clinical caseload
• Deliver ongoing therapy
• Lead EHCP assessments or reports
• Provide detailed diagnostic assessments

Support and Governance

• The locum will work under the guidance of the Schools Lead / Locality Lead
• Regular check-ins will be provided
• Clear escalation routes will be in place for complex cases

Essential:

• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist
• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
• Experience working with children and young people with SLCN
• Experience working in or with mainstream schools
• Experience of working as part of an MDT
• Strong communication and advisory skills

Highly desirable:

• Experience delivering consultative / indirect models
• Understanding of education systems and classroom practice
• Confidence working independently in a structured but autonomous role
