Mediplacements are looking to recruit a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist for a locum position with our client in Essex.

The pay for this position is £27-£35 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.

Main duties:
  • Assessing children and young peoples communication;
  • Delivering input for phonology, language, alternative and augmentative communication and other speech and language difficulties. (This does not include dysphagia.)
  • Writing termly care plans; contributing to care plans and a Band 7 SLT will contribute to reports within the Tribunal process.
  • Offer clinical support to lower band members of the SLT team as appropriate.
Skills required
  • At least 2years experience post qualified (for the B6 post) with experience of working with children and young people with speech and language difficulties; autism and special needs.
Working hours:
  • Part-time or full-time
  • 9-5 but negotiation around school times would be considered
Duration:
  • Minimum of 6 months at this time.
Location
  • Chelmsford Essex base but will be traveling across Mid Essex
Additional information:
  • The candidate must be able to drive, have a valid driving licence and have their own car for all visits.
  • The candidate must be happy to carry out lone working as they will be assigned to schools and homes, where other SLTs may not go into.
  • There will be cross over with other colleagues at Provide bases and support via Teams.
  • Ideally someone who has used Systm1 previously or at least willing to be trained in this system.
