OH Medical is recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to join a private Occupational Health service in Jersey on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Health Nurse looking for a varied position combining management referrals, case management, safety-critical medicals, fitness-for-work assessments and clinical oversight of health surveillance. You will work autonomously while providing practical, evidence-based Occupational Health advice to employees, managers and organisations across a range of sectors.
Duties
- Undertake management referrals covering sickness absence, long-term health conditions, workplace adjustments and return-to-work planning.
- Produce clear, timely and clinically robust Occupational Health reports and recommendations.
- Conduct safety-critical medicals and fitness-for-work assessments, providing appropriate certification and restrictions where required.
- Provide clinical supervision and oversight to Occupational Health Technicians delivering health surveillance.
- Review surveillance findings including audiometry, spirometry, skin surveillance, HAVS and vision screening.
- Identify abnormal results and complex cases, escalating to an Occupational Health Physician or other clinician when appropriate.
- Advise employers on workplace health risks, reasonable adjustments, rehabilitation and fitness for work.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, consent, clinical governance and accurate record keeping.
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Specialist Occupational Health qualification or demonstrable Occupational Health experience, preferably with Part 3 Occupational Health registration or working towards it.
- Experience undertaking management referrals and producing Occupational Health reports.
- Experience with safety-critical medicals, fitness-for-work assessments and workplace health risks.
- Knowledge and experience of health surveillance, including the ability to supervise OHT-led surveillance activity.
- Strong clinical decision-making and evidence-based practice skills.
- Excellent written communication, report writing and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of Jersey employment, health and safety and data protection requirements would be beneficial.
- £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

Salary range
- £55,000 - £65,000 per year
