Duties
- Review pre-employment health questionnaires and assess fitness for work.
- Identify health conditions requiring workplace adjustments and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Conduct occupational health assessments for role-specific fitness standards, including safety-critical positions.
- Deliver management referrals and provide advice on health, attendance, rehabilitation and workplace adjustments.
- Support managers and HR teams with sickness absence management and return-to-work planning.
- Manage referrals to Occupational Health Physicians, Physiotherapists, Counsellors, Employee Assistance Programmes and other healthcare providers where appropriate.
- Support and coordinate health surveillance programmes, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
- Liaise with Health & Safety teams regarding occupational risks and workplace health requirements.
- Administer Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments and provide follow-up support where required.
- Promote employee wellbeing through health promotion campaigns, education initiatives and preventative health programmes.
- Assist with wellbeing strategy development and implementation.
- Maintain accurate Occupational Health records, reports, policies and procedures.
- Monitor Occupational Health trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support first aid arrangements and ensure health-related equipment and supplies remain compliant and operational.
- Assist with Occupational Health budget management and service planning.
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a recognised Occupational Health qualification.
- NMC Registered Nurse with Part 3 registration.
- Significant experience delivering Occupational Health services within a workplace setting.
- Strong case management and management referral experience.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health practice, Health & Safety legislation and employment-related health matters.
- Experience managing health surveillance programmes.
- Ability to provide practical advice regarding fitness for work and workplace adjustments.
- Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
- Experience supporting workplace wellbeing initiatives would be beneficial.
- Mental Health support experience would be advantageous.
- On-target earnings of up to £51,800 per annum.
- Base salary of £46,800 per annum.
- Estimated additional gratuities and service charge of approximately £5,000 per annum.
