About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Mammographer to join the IMGL Mammography service in Glasgow. This ongoing full-time role offers negotiable hourly rates and the chance to work across both a static screening centre and community-based mobile breast screening units.

You will be part of a respected and supportive team, delivering high-quality breast imaging services while maintaining the highest professional and clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Imaging & Patient Care

  • Perform high-quality mammography examinations in line with national screening standards
  • Ensure patient comfort, dignity and reassurance throughout the imaging process
  • Identify and escalate any concerns in accordance with clinical protocols

Mobile & Community Screening

  • Travel to community locations operating mobile breast screening units
  • Deliver efficient and effective screening services across varied settings
  • Adapt to both static and mobile environments with professionalism and flexibility

Standards & Compliance

  • Adhere to UK breast screening programme standards and local protocols
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records
  • Contribute to data management, audit processes and quality assurance initiatives

Professional Development

  • Engage in ongoing CPD and maintain up-to-date professional competencies
  • Support service development and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • HCPC registration as a Radiographer
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography
  • Experience within breast screening services
  • Ability to drive and travel to mobile unit locations
  • Strong communication and patient care skills
