Description
Priory Hospital Hayes Grove is looking to recruit a Lead Occupational Therapist to join the team. This is a full-time/37.5 Hour role.

Priory Hospital Hayes Grove is one of the UK's leading mental health and addiction rehab hospitals.

We provide world class residential treatment for a range of mental health conditions, including
treatment for depression , as well as drug and alcohol addiction treatment . The hospital also offers a comprehensive eating disorder service for adults, with inpatient, day care and outpatient support available. In addition, we provide outpatient treatment for young people as well as private CAMHS assessment options and private autism assessments for adults.


What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
  • Receive and respond promptly to referrals, undertaking OT assessments to identify patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate interventions on either an individual or group basis.
  • Manage and co-ordinate individual OT treatment plans, facilitate groups, and oversee the unit programmes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records detailing each patients' rehabilitation and progress.
  • Write up regular OT reports and to attend multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient management of the Occupational Therapy team, inclusive of clinical and managerial supervision, together with the management of annual leave, sickness, annual Performance Development Reviews, and monthly team meetings.
  • Develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues ensuring clinical practice is in line with Priory policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain effective communication links with patients, relatives and carers.
  • Report to the monthly Clinical Governance Committee meetings, providing any progress updates, feedback, or development where relevant.

What you'll bring to the role

Candidates should hold a recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Substantial post-qualification experience within mental health services is essential, with previous leadership or supervisory experience highly desirable. Applicants should demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, the ability to lead and develop an occupational therapy service, and confidence working within a multidisciplinary team. Experience in inpatient or acute settings, along with knowledge of risk management, safeguarding, and recovery-focused practice, would be advantageous.
