Transform Children’s Homes runs a therapeutic children’s home in East London supporting girls who have experienced trauma, abuse, exploitation and placement instability. At Transform Children’s Homes, we are building more than just a children’s home, we are creating a safe, loving and therapeutic family environment where young people can experience genuine care, emotional safety and long-term support.

This is not a traditional support worker role. We are looking for people who genuinely believe in the power of relationships, consistency and love to help young people heal, grow and move forward in life.

Our home is built around a therapeutic, trauma-informed and relationship-based model of care. Our framework blends lived experience, professional expertise, attachment-informed practice, neuroscience and therapeutic recovery approaches to support healing and meaningful long-term transformation.

This role is one of the most rewarding within our organisation. Through meaningful interventions, creative activities and consistent support, you will help young people build emotional resilience, self-worth and belief in their future. You will help them understand that their past does not define them and that positive transformation is possible.

We are recruiting for:
• Development Coach
• Senior Development Coach

The role includes:
• Building safe and trusting relationships with young people
• Supporting education, health and emotional wellbeing
• Keyworking and direct therapeutic interventions
• Supporting vulnerable young people at risk of exploitation
• Advocating for children within multi-agency networks
• Creating a warm, nurturing and safe home environment
• Recording and reporting in line with Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations
• Supporting daily routines, activities and life skills
• Supporting children to engage in creative, therapeutic and enriching activities
• Promoting healthy attachments, identity development and emotional regulation

We are looking for individuals who:
• Are passionate about improving outcomes for children
• Can remain calm, reflective and nurturing during challenge
• Understand safeguarding and professional boundaries
• Value teamwork, therapeutic practice and relationship-based care
• Are compassionate, resilient and emotionally intelligent
• Are creative, engaging and motivated to inspire young people
• Are willing to work flexibly including evenings, weekends and night shifts
• Hold a full UK driving licence (preferred)
• Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or are willing to work towards this qualification

Experience in residential childcare, youth work, social care, mental health, education or similar settings is welcomed.

As part of our culture and therapeutic model, staff are expected to engage in training, reflective practice, supervisions and ongoing professional development in addition to shift-based responsibilities.

Transform Children’s Homes are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All posts are subject to enhanced DBS checks, safer recruitment checks and satisfactory references in line with The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted expectations.

If you want to be part of a home where relationships matter and where genuine transformation is possible, we would love to hear from you.
