Detailed job description and main responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The post holder will set the clinical standard for CSAIS by providing advanced clinical guidance, a high level of professional integrity and robust leadership.
The post holder will work closely with Team Leads within the service to align operational delivery and evidence based practice according to the local commissioning arrangements.
The post holder will be a point of contact for clinical queries which arise from the work of the CSAIS service.
The post holder will be accountable to their professional body, and the CSAIS senior Leadership Team.
The post holder will develop collaborative working relationships across HCT, and act as a clinician, resource and advisor on immunisations within the organisation and to the local authority and other statutory and voluntary organisations to address the needs of the local population.
The post holder will regularly attend and actively participate in Clinical Supervision in line with HCT policy, sharing the facilitator role as required.
The post holder will take responsibility for own continuous professional development, maintaining a sound level of professional knowledge and competence in line with own Personal Development Plan agreed at annual appraisal.
The post holder will provide effective mentorship by facilitating a learning environment to encourage the professional development of pre-registration and post registration students.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the CSAIS Senior Management Team in respect of clinical guidelines, training, research, audit, and evidence-based practice to ensure equity across the service.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife
  • BSc Community Specialist Practice (School Nursing, Practice Nursing, Health Visiting or other relevant specialist qualification) or relevant experience
Desirable criteria
  • Non Medical Prescriber
  • Master's Level Qualification
Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience of delivering vaccination programmes
  • Experience of clinical audit
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Knowledge of current commissioning architecture
  • Up-to-date relevant clinical practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of provider and commissioning organisations.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of delivery training to teams
Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • A good working knowledge of MS Office Applications
  • Able to use initiative and take responsibility for decisions and actions
  • Evidence of being a problem solver
  • Advanced Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Able to work to deadline
  • A good working knowledge of SystmOne, RAVS and MAVIS

Essential criteria
  • Hold a full, valid, UK driving license and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
