Description
Priory Hospital North London is looking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team. This is a Part Time/15 Hour role.

Located in London, in a peaceful and secluded part of Southgate, Priory Hospital North London is set within a striking Grade I listed building, overlooking beautiful parklands.

What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
  • Provide expert psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and formulation for patients presenting with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related anxiety spectrum disorders, employing evidence-based pharmacological and psychological treatment modalities.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of specialized OCD treatment programs, ensuring individualized care plans that integrate medication management, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and other appropriate interventions.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses, and social workers, to deliver holistic, patient-centered care and support recovery-focused outcomes.
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior psychiatrists, trainees, and other mental health professionals, fostering professional development and maintaining high clinical standards.
  • Contribute actively to research, clinical audits, and service development projects aimed at improving treatment pathways, service efficiency, and patient satisfaction in OCD care.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including primary care providers, community services, and patient advocacy groups, to promote awareness, improve access, and ensure seamless care transitions.

What you'll bring to the role

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Consultant Psychiatrist, registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and on the Specialist Register in Psychiatry. Substantial post-qualification experience in diagnosing and treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and related anxiety disorders is essential, with expertise in both pharmacological and psychological interventions. Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and providing clinical leadership and supervision is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a commitment to research, audit, and service development, are highly desirable. A dedication to delivering patient-centered care and improving clinical outcomes is paramount.
