Description
Priory Hospital Altrincham is looking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist / Medical Director to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours.

Priory Hospital Altrincham provides expert treatment for a range of mental health conditions and addictions. The hospital is comprised of three inpatient units, providing specialist care for adults with range of mental health challenges and addictions. Altrincham also provides established, evidence-based outpatient treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, stress, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and bipolar disorder.




What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
  • Provide RC responsibilities for up to 10 inpatients.
  • Manage own clinical caseload.
  • Lead the ward Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and supervise the Specialty Doctor.
  • Lead the recruitment of all doctors in accordance with Company policies, involving the relevant service line Clinical Director.
  • Lead on approving, reviewing, and withdrawing practising privileges for visiting Consultants in hospitals with private practice.
  • Ensure all new medical staff receive a full induction and probation reviews are completed for employed doctors.

What you'll bring to the role

We are seeking a candidate who holds the MRCPsych or an equivalent qualification, along with Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician (AC) approval. Applicants must also possess a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent and be listed on the GMC Specialist Register for their clinical specialty. The ideal candidate will have strong influencing skills, a commitment to quality and innovative care, and the ability to work effectively as a team member, leader, and independent practitioner across a range of settings. They should demonstrate commercial awareness and either have completed or be willing to undertake Priory leadership and management training. Additionally, candidates should have at least three years' experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist, experience leading a multidisciplinary clinical team in hospital or community environments, and a proven track record of contributing to service change and improvement in a senior capacity.
