About the Role
As a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at LRH, you will contribute to a dynamic service providing high‑quality maternity, gynaecology, and reproductive health care to a diverse regional population. You will work within a collaborative team of O&G consultants, registrars, midwives, nurses, neonatologists, anaesthetists, and allied health professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Specialist obstetric care — antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal management, including high‑risk pregnancies.
- Gynaecological assessment and treatment — outpatient clinics, procedural work, and elective/emergency surgery.
- Clinical leadership — supervision of junior doctors, registrars, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Collaborative care with primary care, maternity services, paediatrics, and community partners.
- Service development — contributing to model‑of‑care improvements and strategic planning.
- Quality improvement and governance — participation in audit, safety initiatives, and peer review.
- Education and research within the Women’s & Children’s Division.

About You

Essential qualifications and experience:
- MRCOG, FRANZCOG, or equivalent specialist qualification
- Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Demonstrated senior‑level experience in obstetrics and gynaecology
- Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with women, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to clinical governance, safety, and quality improvement
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary maternity and gynaecology team
