Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist – Latrobe Regional Health, Gippsland, Australia

Permanent Appointment | Relocation Support Available

Latrobe Regional Health (LRH), the major specialist healthcare provider for the Gippsland region of Victoria, is seeking an experienced Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join our growing Women’s & Children’s Division. This is an exceptional opportunity for a UK‑trained consultant seeking meaningful clinical practice, strong multidisciplinary support, and a lifestyle that balances professional fulfilment with space to breathe.

About the Role

As a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at LRH, you will contribute to a dynamic service providing high‑quality maternity, gynaecology, and reproductive health care to a diverse regional population. You will work within a collaborative team of O&G consultants, registrars, midwives, nurses, neonatologists, anaesthetists, and allied health professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Specialist obstetric care — antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal management, including high‑risk pregnancies.
  • Gynaecological assessment and treatment — outpatient clinics, procedural work, and elective/emergency surgery.
  • Clinical leadership — supervision of junior doctors, registrars, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Collaborative care with primary care, maternity services, paediatrics, and community partners.
  • Service development — contributing to model‑of‑care improvements and strategic planning.
  • Quality improvement and governance — participation in audit, safety initiatives, and peer review.
  • Education and research within the Women’s & Children’s Division.

You will join a service committed to safe, family‑centred maternity care and evidence‑based gynaecological practice.

About You

You are a dedicated, compassionate clinician who values teamwork, integrity, and high‑quality women’s health care. You bring strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • MRCOG, FRANZCOG, or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated senior‑level experience in obstetrics and gynaecology
  • Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with women, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to clinical governance, safety, and quality improvement
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary maternity and gynaecology team
