Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum

Hours: Full‑time, 42.5 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a well‑established Dementia Residential Care Home in Cwmbran. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong, compassionate leader who is passionate about delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care and supporting the Home Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the service.

You will play a key role in ensuring the home operates safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory standards, while supporting staff development and maintaining excellent care outcomes for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Home Manager with the daily running of the residential dementia care home

• Lead, supervise and motivate staff to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care

• Oversee care planning, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures

• Ensure compliance with CQC standards and internal policies

• Support with rota planning, staffing levels and resource management

• Build strong relationships with residents, families and external professionals

• Assist with audits, quality monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives

• Support recruitment, induction and ongoing staff training

• Act as senior lead in the absence of the Home Manager

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Senior Carer or Team Leader in a residential care setting

• Strong understanding of dementia care and person‑centred practice

• Good knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and compliance

• Confident leadership skills with the ability to support and develop staff

• Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving abilities

• Passionate about delivering safe, high‑quality care

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (NVQ Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
