Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist

Mediplacements are currently recruiting for an experienced band 7 blood transfusion Biomedical Scientist to work in a laboratory in West Sussex.

This is a full-time position due to start as soon as possible with a pay rate of up to £25 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests on blood samples to diagnose and monitor medical conditions related to blood disorders and transfusions.
• Verify compatibility between donors and recipients, detect and prevent transfusion reactions, and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure the safe and effective use of blood products in medical settings.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and adhere to strict quality control and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care and support.

Job Description:

• All aspects of Blood Transfusion bench work and compliance.
• Knowledge in Winpath and Blood 360 preferable.
• The successful candidate must be HCPC registered and have proven experience in blood transfusion.
