What You Will Do

  • Deliver specialist clinical pharmacy input within the biologics service, ensuring the safe and effective use of high-cost medicines.

  • Provide expert pharmaceutical advice to clinicians, nursing staff, and patients on biologic therapies.

  • Review and approve prescriptions in line with national and local formulary guidance.

  • Lead patient education and counselling sessions on biologic treatments, focusing on adherence and safety.

  • Support the development and review of prescribing guidelines and formulary updates.

  • Monitor treatment outcomes, conduct audits, and contribute to pharmacovigilance reporting.

  • Drive service improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical governance processes.

  • Supervise and mentor junior pharmacists, pre-registration trainees, and pharmacy technicians.
