Join an exciting journey as a Band 7 Stroke Speech & Language Therapist within the vibrant Speech & Language Therapy team in Dundee, Angus, earning up to £37.64 per hour on an hourly basis. This ongoing opportunity is full-time, offering a dynamic work environment where you can make a significant impact in stroke rehabilitation and acute care services. Starting on 21 September 2026 and concluding on 18 December 2026, you'll work up to 36 hours per week from 08:00 to 16:00, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

What you will do:

• Provide inpatient Speech and Language Therapy cover within acute hospital services.
• Deliver specialist interventions within the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit.
• Support acute medicine and surgical wards with your expertise.
• Undertake and manage specialist dysphagia assessments.
• Assess and manage communication and swallowing disorders effectively.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans that facilitate recovery.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Maintain meticulous clinical records and reports.
• Contribute to discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Support service delivery across acute SLT services.

• End Date: 18/12/2026
• Hours: Up to 36 hours per week
• Working Pattern: 08:00-16:00 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Band 7 Speech and Language Therapy experience.
• Strong skills in acute dysphagia management.
• Experience in acute hospital Speech and Language Therapy settings.
• Proven stroke rehabilitation experience.
• Proficiency in managing communication and swallowing disorders.
• Ability to work independently within an acute environment.
• Strong multidisciplinary team working skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Full compliance documentation as required by NHS Tayside.

Desirable Requirements:

• High Dependency Unit (HDU) experience.
• Experience in the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit.
• Experience across acute medicine and surgical services.
• Familiarity with inpatient stroke pathways.
