Join an exciting journey as a Band 7 Stroke Speech & Language Therapist within the vibrant Speech & Language Therapy team in Dundee, Angus, earning up to £37.64 per hour on an hourly basis. This ongoing opportunity is full-time, offering a dynamic work environment where you can make a significant impact in stroke rehabilitation and acute care services. Starting on 21 September 2026 and concluding on 18 December 2026, you'll work up to 36 hours per week from 08:00 to 16:00, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

What you will do:
- Provide inpatient Speech and Language Therapy cover within acute hospital services.
- Deliver specialist interventions within the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit.
- Support acute medicine and surgical wards with your expertise.
- Undertake and manage specialist dysphagia assessments.
- Assess and manage communication and swallowing disorders effectively.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans that facilitate recovery.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Maintain meticulous clinical records and reports.
- Contribute to discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Support service delivery across acute SLT services.

Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Band 7 Speech and Language Therapy experience.
- Strong skills in acute dysphagia management.
- Experience in acute hospital Speech and Language Therapy settings.
- Proven stroke rehabilitation experience.
- Proficiency in managing communication and swallowing disorders.
- Ability to work independently within an acute environment.
- Strong multidisciplinary team working skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Full compliance documentation as required by NHS Tayside.
Desirable Requirements:
- High Dependency Unit (HDU) experience.
- Experience in the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit.
- Experience across acute medicine and surgical services.
- Familiarity with inpatient stroke pathways.
