Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist to join the Neuro Rehabilitation service based in Dorking. This role focuses on delivering specialist assessment and intervention to adults with acquired neurological conditions, supporting recovery, independence, and quality of life.

What you will do

• Undertake comprehensive speech and language assessments for adults with acquired neurological conditions.
• Manage your own caseload across inpatient and community neuro‑rehabilitation settings.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, including dysphagia.
• Work closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, consultants, and nursing staff to deliver holistic rehabilitation programmes.
• Develop, implement, and review patient‑centred treatment plans with clear rehabilitation goals.
• Provide education, advice, and training to patients, carers, and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and NHS standards.
• Participate in service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Essential:

• Qualified Speech & Language Therapist registered with the HCPC.
• Experience working with adults with neurological conditions.
• Knowledge and practical experience in managing communication and swallowing disorders.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:

• Experience in neuro‑rehabilitation services.
• Experience working with dysphagia in inpatient or community settings.
