Role overview
We are offering an exciting locum opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a specialist Oncology Team based in Whitchurch, Cardiff. This ongoing role provides flexibility with part-time or full-time hours and the chance to work across a range of oncology settings, supporting adults at various stages of their cancer journey.
You will play a key role within the multidisciplinary oncology team, delivering patient-centred occupational therapy interventions that promote independence, enhance quality of life, and support safe discharge planning across inpatient, outpatient, and day therapy services.

Job purpose
To deliver a specialist occupational therapy service to adults affected by cancer across the oncology pathway, including diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, palliative care, and end-of-life care. The post holder will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions to maximise independence, function, and wellbeing, while contributing to effective discharge planning as an integral member of the Oncology MDT.
Key responsibilities

Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions for patients with complex physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial needs related to cancer and its treatment.

Independently manage a defined caseload, prioritising workload in line with clinical need and service demands.
