What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload of complex children and young people, tackling both communication and dysphagia needs with care and skill.
  • Make specialist clinical decisions following assessments, sharing these decisions with other professionals within the multi-agency team and the wider Speech and Language Therapy team.
  • Reflect on all aspects of children's communication and eating or drinking to identify neuro-affirmative strategies that enhance communicative effectiveness.
  • Develop comprehensive care plans that incorporate evidence, best practices, and the views of the family and others involved with the child.
  • Communicate complex and sensitive condition-related information from assessments to clients, carers, families, and members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Write reports with specialist knowledge, making referrals to other agencies as necessary.
  • Promote and develop optimal communicative environments, introducing a range of augmentative and alternative communication strategies and contributing specialist input into policy-making within school settings.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • HCPC Registration: Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Driving Licence: Must be a car driver.
  • Availability: Ready to commit to a full-time, ongoing locum role.
