Priory Hospital Kemple View is looking to recruit an assistant psychologist to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours.
Located in Blackburn, Lancashire, Priory Hospital Kemple View is a 90-bedded hospital, offering level 2 rehabilitation, and secure services, for adult males. We can support people with a mental health condition and/or a personality disorder.

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients

The role requires the application of knowledge and skills gained during an undergraduate psychology degree in day-to-day clinical work, under the management and supervision of an experienced, HCPC-registered practitioner psychologist. Assistant Psychologists will undertake their responsibilities within this structured supervisory framework, using intelligent problem-solving informed by prior work experience, supervised practice, and academic learning. A creative and flexible approach is essential. The post also demands well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with service users and their families or carers, as well as the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external professionals.

- To undertake protocol based psychological assessments of service users applying psychological tests, including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews, and others involved in the service user's care, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.
- To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user's problems, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist
- To assist in the co-ordination and co-facilitation of therapeutic groups as appropriate.
- Assists with the planning, delivery and review of one-to-one sessions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist
