- As part of a team, share responsibility for the administration services that underpin the antenatal outpatient maternity services.
- Provide excellent communication skills with service users, their families and colleagues.
- Always promote effective communications and relationships both within and external to the Maternity Outpatients Department and Trust.
- Provide cover to the antenatal department reception area - booking in patients, answering the telephone and supporting patient flow through the area.
- Appropriately manage referral letters from women, midwives and General Practitioners
- Work with the Service Manager to evaluate the effectiveness of the service through audit and ensure that improvements are implemented and re-audited as appropriate.
- To be responsible for maintaining clinical records as required.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to NVQ level 3 equivalent qualification and experience

- The ability to communicate basic or sensitive information to colleagues, patients and relatives
- The ability to pay close attention to detail in written and electronic communication and information storage
- The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality administrative support
- Demonstrates personal duty of care in relation to the safe use of equipment and other resources
- Able to organise, prioritise own workload

- Previous NHS experience
- Experience using PAS/EPR/Soliton
