This service focuses on the need for treatment to be collaborative with service users taking account of individual needs, evidence-based, driven by multi-disciplinary understanding, support, and interventions. This allows the service user to progress through the service and increase their quality of life and functioning. The highly specialised eating disorder service for women will include those with extremely low BMIs. The focus is on supporting individuals to attain a healthy BMI and prepare for a return to home. The service will provide support to individuals in a safe and homely environment and promote engagement with the women to help diminish their distress and help them achieve a better quality of life. For most individuals, this will involve the reduction of emotional behaviours associated with the eating disorder psychopathology and acquiring new skills necessary for surviving emotional crises, regulating emotions, and improving interpersonal effectiveness. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the provision of Occupational Therapy across Cygnet Elowen. The successful post holder will be provided with clinical supervision by the onsite Occupational Therapist. About Us Cygnet Health Care was established in 1988 as an independent provider of health and social care services in England, Scotland and Wales. Your Role Service Line: Specialist Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation Service for Men Role: Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 7 equivalent) Hours : Full time - 40 hours per week Salary: £48,221 - £50,706 per year (Dependent on Experience) Contract: Permanent Summary of the site: Cygnet Paddocks is our new specialist Neuropsychiatric rehabilitation service for men. The service provides a dedicated care pathway for men affected by acquired brain injury or neurological conditions, where behaviours that challenge are the overarching impairment to recovery and rehabilitation. The individually designed wards replicate the well-established rehabilitation and treatment pathways already successfully offered by Cygnet in other Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation services; facilitating a clear and distinctive care and treatment pathway led by an all-encompassing in-house clinical and medical team. We ensure person-centred outcomes are maximised through inter-disciplinary working, whilst keeping the individual at the heart of their discharge planning. This service is able to accept individuals using a variety of legal frameworks, including those under the Mental Health Act. Cygnet Paddocks is located in Widnes, in the North West. The local area has many parks and nature reserves, and the service is well connected by public transport to nearby supermarkets, cafés and leisure activities. There is a dedicated clinical team who provide multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapists, psychology, psychiatry, and nursing staff. You will be supported by a Band 6 Occupational Therapist and an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Occupational Therapy Directorate Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups &amp; become involved in service development. Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.
