With over 9000 staff and over 1100 beds the priorities of the Trust focus on a quality service which is all about people - patients, staff and partners. Recognised as providing 'outstanding' care to our patients and rated 'Good' overall by the Care Quality Commissioner, is testament to the skill and dedication of the people who work here. CUH's values - Together- safe, kind, excellent - are at the heart of patient care, defining the way all staff work and behave. The Trust provides accessible high-quality healthcare for the local people of Cambridge, together with specialist services, dealing with rare or complex conditions for a regional, national and international population.
The Pharmacy Department at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ambitious and forward thinking, striving to ensure that the patient is always at the heart of everything we do.
We are looking for a highly motivated pharmacist to lead and manage the Medicines Information (MI) service, located within the Pharmacy department. Handling approximately 200 medicines-related questions each month, you will be expected to lead a team providing clinical advice to healthcare professionals and patients.
In addition you will have the opportunity to provide leadership for key MI workstreams, in particular supporting the management of medicines shortages and pro-active medicines advice/communication.
You will be required to ensure that the service is delivered in line with agreed standards and that there is an on-going programme of quality improvement. MI training development and delivery to pharmacy and other staff groups is key.
There will be the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Pharmacy eHospital and informatics team to continue to develop the MI aspects of the EPMA system.
As part of the role, you will also provide an advanced level clinical pharmacy service to a particular area. We are also keen to support further development of the right individual, therefore if you do not have a non-medical prescribing qualification we will support this training.
This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £47.50. This fee will be deducted from your second month's salary.
The closing date for this vacancy is 21st August 2019
