Job Description

We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.
We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public. The services are spread over a wide geographical area of around 3,600 square miles, which includes coastal, rural and industrial areas.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our existing team of professionals working in the Darlington Locality. Within the service we provide assessment and treatments to Adults who have a mental health condition.
The Assistant Psychologist will be an integral part of this team, working under supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist. There will be opportunities for conducting clinical interventions, including psychometric testing and group work alongside other duties such as database development and management, audit and service evaluations.
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who has excellent team working skills. Previous experience of psychometric testing would be beneficial.
The Trust employs a successful team of Psychologists with a highly motivated and supportive team of Senior Managers and other senior clinical staff. In the event that permanent funding is secured for this post the successful applicant will be confirmed in post on a permanent basis.
