Job Description

West London NHS Trust is one of the most diverse providers of NHS mental and physical care in the UK. We are rated 'good' by the Care Quality Commission and 'outstanding' for caring and our forensic services.
We are here to care for people with mental and physical illness, helping them to recover and go on to lead full and productive lives. We aim to be the best organisation of our kind in the country.
We provide care and treatment for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, delivering services in the community (at home, in GP surgeries, care homes), hospital, specialist clinics and forensic (secure) units.
Our physical healthcare services include intermediate care services in Hammersmith & Fulham as part of the Community Independence Service partnership.
Our national, specialist and forensic services include:
  • Medium secure services on the St Bernard's Hospital site in Ealing
  • Services for people with complex and severe personality disorder at the Cassel Hospital in Richmond
  • High secure services at Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire
We are a teaching Trust with a growing research portfolio, working with academic and industry partners.
Our 3400 staff are dedicated to improving lives, working with patients, service users, carers, families and partners across the communities we serve.

SAFE band 7 psychologist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two band 7 psychologists to join the SAFE (Supportive Action for Families in Ealing) CAMHS team. The CAMHS team is comprised of psychologists, assistant psychologists, family therapists, nurses and CWPs. The post holders would provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology service to children and adolescents in Ealing Tier 2 CAMHS aged 0 -18 and their families, across all sectors of care; providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. You would also contribute to audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team.
SAFE is a multi-agency service made up of social workers, family support workers, pupil and family workers, an educational psychologist and family safety worker who offer help and support to families in a variety of ways. CAMHS is embedded within this team, and clinicians work closely with multi agency colleagues undertaking joint assessment and intervention and offering consultation, as well as working independently. The service offers evidence-based interventions, including CBT, systemic and parenting work, NVR and group work. We work in creative and flexible ways to meet the needs of families who present with a wide range of difficulties, often working in partnership with agencies such as education and social care. We are a small and friendly CAMHS who offer good opportunities for CPD. The pos tholders would be well supported in role, with clear job plans, regular supervision and appraisals and opportunities to connect with the wider Ealing CAMHS and trust-wide CAMHS colleagues. We would welcome an innovative clinical psychologist to join us, whether recently qualified, or more experienced.
