Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) with special interests to join the Doncaster Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service. Within this role protected time will be provided to develop the service and increase access rates.
The Doncaster IAPT service is looking to develop specialities and variety within the PWP role through creating 'champions' within the PWP role and across areas of service improvement and development. For example, champions for older people, black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) groups, military veterans, LGBT and travellers. Through creating these opportunities this will enhance and widen the practitioner's skill set through gaining experience in project management, stakeholder engagement and partnership work, as well as more specialist clinical skills.
We are a well-established and high performing IAPT, with the service originally being one of the national IAPT demonstration sites in 2006.
The Doncaster IAPT service provides a wide range of evidence-based psychological interventions options, including: low intensity CBT, CBT, EMDR, brief counselling, CfD, IPT and couples therapy for Depression.
You will often be working independently within GP practices and community settings but under the supervision of an experienced practitioner and have the motivation and capacity to help develop the service and improve patient care. In particular you will help deliver and support the treatment of anxiety and depression in primary care using a range of evidence-based treatments including psycho-education and guided self-help, predominantly face-to-to-face, but also with a facility for group and computerised formats. You will receive regular supervision and attend regular Continuing Professional Development for the service.
