Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Allergy

Part Time - 22.5 hours per week
The Children's Allergy Service is seeking a part-time (0.6 FTE) Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Allergy to join a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking team as a fixed term position. The department was founded in 2006 and has grown rapidly since and is now the largest of its kind in the UK. We are currently involved in many exciting initiatives and are looking for an individual with appropriate skills to complement this team and help keep the service in the forefront of clinical and academic excellence.
Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is made up of two of London's best known teaching hospitals and employs over 13,650 staff and have over 2 million patient contacts a year. Our annual turnover is now £1.3 billion.
The Children's Allergy Service offers a wide and comprehensive range of services to children with allergic disorders. The Post CCT Clinical Fellow will help run these services and will undertake general outpatient sessions to cover leave including potentially evening and weekend clinics. They will be expected to take an active role in research and development and to participate in the teaching programs of the department. There are no general paediatric on call commitments. This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment.
The Evelina Children's Hospital is the first Children's Hospital to be built in London for over a hundred years. We have a full children's imaging service, a kidney dialysis unit, outpatients and medical day care unit and a hospital school. The trust serves the large local paediatric population and provides tertiary referral services for the South Thames Region and beyond. Specialist paediatric services include: Allergy, Inherited Metabolic Disease (IMD), Neurology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Paediatric Intensive Care, Neonatal Intensive Care & Special Care Baby Unit, Clinical Genetics, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Accident & Emergency, Urology, ENT, Orthopaedics and Cleft Services. The trust provides the Regional Paediatric Intensive Care Retrieval Service
You must be fully registered with the GMC/GDC and hold a Licence to Practice and have extensive experience in Paediatric Allergy. As an organisation, we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This includes asking certain groups of staff to work more flexibly so that we can offer services to patients in the evenings and at weekends. We regard this flexibility as essential if we are to continue to provide first class patient care in the future. As a result, any offer of employment will be subject to you agreeing to work a new more flexible pattern of working in the future if required and in accordance with the provisions of the new Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust consultant contract.
