Membership/fellowship of the relevant Royal College or equivalent for overseas applicants is preferred. Posts are available for 6 months up to 2 years dependent on requirements.

The Liver Intensive Care is a unique facility with a worldwide reputation for the care of critically ill patients with liver disease. Staffed by a specialist team of intensive care doctors, it has been setting international standards for patient care for more than two decades and is a leading centre for the development and use of advanced and innovative therapies

We have a special interest in the management of acute liver failure, complications of portal hypertension and chronic liver disease and liver Apply also admit patients from other disciplines, and have a pedigree in the management of complex haematology, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgical patients requiring circulatory support (including ECMO) and general medical and surgical patients.

Within both the Institute of Liver Studies and the Trust (organised by the Department of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education) there is a comprehensive teaching programme with protected teaching time and access to the excellent medical school facilities. The post includes on call duties.
