This is a unique opportunity to provide maternity leave cover for the substantive post holder and gain experience of a clinical lead role within the Mental Health Liaison Team within Bolton. This post is for 0.6 wte for a minimum of 9 months.
The MH Liaison team, previously known as Rapid, Assessment, Interface and Discharge (RAID) service is a specialist multi-disciplinary mental health service within the acute hospital in Bolton. It specialises in understanding the link between people's physical and mental health, supporting the assessment, formulation, diagnosis and management of individuals of all ages who attend A&E, or are admitted to hospital and who might be experiencing mental health difficulties.
A Clinical Lead Clinical Psychologist post has been integral to the development of this service and forms a core part of the MDT. The team works closely with Bolton hospital healthcare staff to ensure that physical and mental health care is as joined up as possible.
The psychological resource within the team ensures:
- Case formulation and complex case formulation leading to discharge planning and management plans, including management of frequent attenders.
- Ward based brief Interventions e.g. CBT informed interventions and solution focussed therapy, in accordance with the stepped care model.
- Psychological contribution to and enhancement of MDT working.
- Psychologically informed case supervision and application of psychological approaches to enhance staff capacity to cope with the pressure and stress of liaison working.
- Contribution to the development of psychological mindedness of the Liason team and wider teams within Bolton acute care trust.
