The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley.
CONSULTANT GASTROENTEROLOGIST WITH AN INTEREST IN ENDOSCOPIC ULTRASOUND
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed colleague to complement our experienced, supportive and well-established Gastroenterology team providing comprehensive Gastroenterology and cancer services at Denmark Hill.
The post-holder will provide: outpatient, inpatient, MDM and endoscopic Gastroenterology services; a prominent contribution to our secondary and tertiary Endoscopic Ultrasound service; a vital role in the Upper GI Cancer service to improve performance and the patient experience agenda.
We have a 7-consultant team, juniors and a team of specialist nurses supporting this busy and committed service. Working as a senior member of the team you will form effective and collaborative working relationships with our hospital teams and wider ACN cancer networks. We have strong links with community and commissioners with established pathways for IBD, IBS, therapeutic endoscopy and alcohol liaison. There will be participation in a 1 in 7, consultant-delivered Gastroenterologist-of-the-Week rota with associated Acute GI bleed on-call.
Education and training are a central part of the life of the Department and the successful candidate will have demonstrable skills and experience in this regard.
The successful applicant will have dedicated sessions in our internationally-renowned Endoscopy Unit. Weekly MDT meetings are held with video-conferencing for upper/lower GI/HPB malignancy with our Denmark Hill site and Guy’s and St Thomas’ colleagues.
