As a provider of care for people of all ages who have mental and/or community health needs we are dedicated to providing a high quality service, close to where people live and as much as possible tailored to an individual's needs.

We are seeking dynamic and well-motivated individuals to join the Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust's Adult Inpatient Teams as SAS doctors (5 posts in total of 10 PAs each for 5 acute inpatient ward teams) following ongoing reconfiguration of Community and In-patient Services from a continuity of care model to a functional model of care.
Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of Apply across Bradford and provides an integrated community and mental health service to people of all ages. There is a long-established collaboration with local authority and third sector services.
Bradford is a vibrant city which combines a diverse population, varied cultural experiences, arts and entertainment with the challenges associated with a modern city. The district also includes part of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and the semi-rural areas around them and has good transport links with Leeds, York, Sheffield and Manchester. We also have strong links with Leeds University which benefits training, education and research and our commitment to your ongoing professional development. In addition, our Consultants are actively involved in a well-established junior doctor training programme and have strong links with the Leeds Medical School.

Speciality Doctors in General Adult Psychiatry In-patient:
5 posts covering Bradford and Airewharfe (3 roles at Lynfield Mount Hospital and 2 at The Airedale Centre for Mental Health)
Salary: £39,060 to £72,840 Per Annum
Full time 10 PA's per post other hours
There are three acute inpatient wards at Lynfield Mount Hospital - Oakburn (21 male beds), Maplebeck (21 male beds) and Ashbrook (25 female beds). The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (Clover ward) is a 10 bedded mixed sex ward at Lynfield Mount Hospital site.
There are two acute inpatient wards at Airedale Centre for Mental Health - Fern (15 male beds), Heather (18 female beds). There is an aspiration for all the acute inpatient adult wards to be 18 bedded/ward in the near future.
The Inpatient service adopts a strong multidisciplinary team approach to risk assessment and management and offers intensive as well as comprehensive care to their patients. The ward team strongly advocate a person-centred care delivery for the service users and carers and the active involvement of their carers and advocacy/translator services through the CPA process. In accordance with the Guiding principles of Mental Health Act, the team is dedicated to providing treatment in the least restrictive manner.
This post is designed to support you in broadening your skills in old age psychiatry and to developing the necessary competencies to successfully achieve CESR status. As such, we will support you in this post through the following commitments:
    • 2 sessions SPA time as standard
    • You will receive a structured portfolio in which to store WPBAs and other evidence for including in your CESR submission to the General Medical Council (GMC)
    • You will be provided with additional resources to support your learning
    • You will receive regular clinical supervision (formal/informal) (weekly)
    • You will be allocated a CESR mentor
    • Participation in weekly local MRCPsych programme guaranteed
    • Free access to the RCPsych's CPD Online
    • An annual study budget
    • Opportunities for involvement with medical student teaching
    • SAS Tuto
