The salary is up to £23,735 per annum dependent on the experience.

This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week, where 4 days you will be based at HMP Grendon & Springhill and 1 day at HMYOI Aylesbury.

About the Job:

As a Pharmacy Technician at HMP Grendon & Springhill and HMYOI Aylesbury, you will assist in the delivery of a high quality pharmacy service to the prison population.

You can expect to provide medicines management services to assist in tackling identified, inequalities within the prison population contributing to diagnosis of care and treatment needs. This includes providing pharmacy related information to patients, prison officers and other healthcare professionals ensuring that the level of advice given is appropriate to overcome barriers to understanding, conveying complex and sensitive information in an easily understandable form.

The Pharmacy Technician will also assist with the implementation and development of pharmacy support to all wings in the prison which includes, where appropriate, counselling of patients on the correct use of medication.

HMP Grendon & Springhill - is a Category D men's prison, located in the village of Grendon Underwood, in Buckinghamshire, England.

HMYOI Aylesbury - is a Young Offender Institution situated in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England.

Job Requirements:

You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent qualifications and must have a current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council to be considered for this role. You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
