Psychologist - Prison Service, Dublin 7 & 22
Psychologist required for locum position covering prison service located in Wheathfield prison, D 7 and Arbour Hill prison, D 22.
The successful candidate will be working primarily, in conjunction with Probation Service colleagues, in the delivery of the National Sex Offender Treatment programme (Building Better Lives) for men with convictions for harmful sexual behaviour.
In addition, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including Prison Governors, Prison Officers, Probation Officers, Doctors, Nurses, Psychiatrists, Teachers, Employment, and Resettlement officers, the successful candidate will provide a psychology service to clients who are experiencing a wide range of emotional, mental health and other offence related difficulties.
Interested candidates must:
- Be eligible for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Hold a postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology recognised by PSI. (Applicants with qualifications obtained outside of Ireland must obtain a statement of equivalence in Clinical Psychology from the Department of Health);
- (ii) Hold a postgraduate professional qualification in Counselling Psychology recognised by PSI. (Applicants with qualifications obtained outside of Ireland must obtain a statement of equivalence in Counselling Psychology from the Department of Health);
