Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust
(AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.
We employ over 4,000 dedicated members of staff who deliver services from more than 90 locations, working in approximately 150 teams across a geographical region of 2,200 miles, for a population of approximately 1.8million people.
We are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our organisation, and through our partnerships, to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on people's recovery. Our staff are pivotal in everything we do and we are committed to involving them fully in the development of the Trust and our services.
Due to the promotion of the previous post holder, an opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Pharmacy team as the locality lead pharmacist for Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES).
We are seeking a pharmacist with clinical experience in secondary care and an appetite for service development. Whilst experience of working in mental health services would be an advantage, we are happy to support the right candidate in developing in this specialty if they have an enthusiasm to learn.
This is a part-time post (22.5hrs per week) and we'd welcome discussions with potential candidates about a flexible working pattern to best meet the needs of the service and of the individual. Some travel to other trust sites is an essential part of this role.
The pharmacy service at AWP has two in-house, technician led dispensaries (in Bristol and Wiltshire) and clinical pharmacists and MMTs based at our various inpatient sites across the trust. The clinical service is an a development phase and we would be pleased to support the successful candidate in applying for funding to undertake further training including the mental health certificate or diploma, or a non-medical prescribing qualification.
