We have a vacancy for 1.0 wte, Band 7 Clinical Psychologist Preceptorship (moving to 8A upon attainment of competencies), to work in one of the Community Mental Health Teams in Bolton.
We are looking for someone who values and enjoys multi-disciplinary team working (with Social Workers, CPNs, Peer Support representatives, OT, Support Time and Recovery, Psychiatry), direct and indirect psychological work and developing innovative practice in pursuit of increasing access to psychological therapies for service users with severe and complex mental health problems and psychosocial needs.
The successful post holder will join a team of Clinical Psychologists dedicated to high quality service provision, drawing on a range of theoretical models and perspectives. We meet regularly and support professional development in a range of ways. The team is part of the wider psychology and psychological therapy provision in Bolton, working across Inpatient, EIT, HBTT, Learning Disabilities, Older Adults and Mental Health Liaison. The Trust has a strong focus on research and co-production with people with lived experience, including through the Trust's Recovery Academy.
The successful post holder will need a high level understanding of the distinct contribution and added value that psychological approaches can make in a community mental health team. There is a range of opportunities for individual interventions, group work, consultation, service development and delivery of training. The successful post holder will need to have a strong professional identity and experience and skills in the provision of therapy for people with complex mental health conditions, including a history of trauma.
