This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified/highly experienced clinician to work into a challenging and dynamic service that provides expert psychological care to renal medicine/surgery services (including renal dialysis and transplantation) at Manchester Royal Infirmary (Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust).
The vacancy has been created to cover a period of planned maternity leave for the current postholder.
We are seeking applications from highly experienced Clinical Psychologists already working at Consultant grade or suitable to be appointed at this grade. You will have extensive experience within renal care or related physical health services and be familiar with acute hospital settings (outpatient/inpatient/community) with a proven track record of service development/audit/consultation skills/MDT working/supervising psychology and non psychology staff e.g. Clinical Nurse Specialists. You will work alongside counsellors providing services to renal care at the MRI and provide leadership over the provision of psycho-social care to patients of the renal services at the MRI and associated satellite clinics across Greater Manchester.
You will work as an independent Practitioner Psychologist with your own clinical case load; as well contribute to staff consultation, research and multidisciplinary work.
The post holder will be supported by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Lead for Physical Health Psychological Services and will access clinical supervision through senior clinical psychologists working in other physical health specialisms within Manchester. Appropriate access to in-house and specialist CPD will be provided.
