We're looking for a fantastic individual to join an established Psychology Department within Cygnet Hospital Bierley which is a 63-bed specialist mental health hospital.

Our team of six clinical and forensic psychologists is committed to delivering a range of effective and evidence-based interventions that support the recovery and wellbeing of service users
Under the supervision of a qualified psychologist, the post-holder will have the opportunity to undertake a range of clinical and audit activities across the four wards within the hospital. Our four wards comprise a Female Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU); a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy service for women with a diagnosis of personality disorder; a low secure male ward; and low secure female ward. Service Users present as highly distressed at times and may pose a risk to themselves and/or others.
The majority of Service Users are being cared for under the Mental Health Act. Service users on the low secure wards often present with a diagnosis of schizophrenia and may have a history of substance use difficulties and/or violent and/or sexual offending.
The successful candidate will have an upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology (endorsed with Graduate basis for Chartership with the BPS). Previous experience of working with people with mental health problems and /or experience in forensic settings are essential. Further post-graduate training in a relevant area of professional psychology, mental health and/or research design and analysis would be an advantage.
