OAKMERE WARD BASE: POTTERS BAR COMMUNITY HOSPITAL BAND: Healthcare Assistant (Band 2)
1 Full Time post 37.5 hours per week
An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistants to join our Team on the above ward.
These are challenging and rewarding posts, although six months previous experience within a healthcare setting is required, full in-house training will be provided under the guidance and supervision of a well established and experienced team.
Potters Bar Community Hospital comprises of 29 beds and an Outpatient Department which are Consultant led with the support of local GPs.
The posts are based on Oakmere Ward which is divided into two areas:
Oakmere North Ward has 14 beds
Oakmere South Ward has 15 beds
Both wards provide care for patients requiring long and short term rehabilitation including stroke, post-op orthopaedic rehab, medical assessment, diagnostic investigations and treatments and palliative and end of life care.
Staff work Long Day and Night Shifts to cover 24 hours 7 days a week. Post holders will, at times, be expected to alter their duties to cover sickness and absence. The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team is essential as is the desire to deliver high quality care through evidence based practice.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,000 and a maximum payment of £1,733 per annum.
