Applied Psychologist - Adult Mental Health Inpatient Hospital
£40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits
Compass Associates are working in partnership with a prominent provider of both mental health and learning disabilities who are based across the North West to recruit for an Applied Psychologist for their 32 bedded male only independent mental health hospital in the Wrexham area. The hospital is recently refurbed and offers open, locked and low secure services to individuals living with complex and enduring mental health conditions. We are seeking a motivated and appropriately qualified individual to support the groups head of psychologist to lead and develop services. My client are seeking someone who offers previous exposure from previous practices to the above conditions or from their core training if newly qualified. Above all my client are seeking an individual with the correct attitude, someone committed willing to learn and to develop to excellent care and treatment for patients.
This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified psychologist. Some of your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
To work autonomously within professional and organisational guidelines and exercise responsibility for the governance of psychological practice within relevant services.
To provide psychological assessment, formulation and interventions to inpatients at New Hall and to act as a specialist resource to the wider professional community.
To work collaboratively as a member of the Multidisciplinary team and in line with the organisational policy for Multidisciplinary Team working.
To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within MHC.
Provide systemic support and training to the nursing and support team to assist in the delivery of effective care and rehabilitation of service users.
To contribute to service development, Clinical or Forensic governance and multi-disciplinary forums as directed
Good working knowledge of up to date therapy, research and evidence based practices
Experience of working as part of an MDT
Appropriate qualifications in Psychology
The role is located in Wrexham and is commutable from Chester, North Wales, Crewe, Stoke on Trent and Shrewsbury.
The interview process will be in a two stage format.
Stage One - Informal conversation with the Groups Lead Psychologist
Stage Two - Formal interview with the Medical Director and Lead Psychologist
