We are looking for an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to lead the ongoing development of the provision of psychological therapies within our Later Life services. The post holder would have line management responsibility for the psychological therapies staff working in Later Life, currently two psychologists, an Art Therapist, Music Therapist and another therapist. The service also regularly takes undergraduate psychology placement students and trainees from the Clinical Psychology Doctoral training programme at the University of Bath.
There is a particular interest within Later Life services to think about ways of improving the service provided for people with a diagnosis of Personality Disorder. The role will include the provision of training and supervision for Later Life staff, as well as direct clinical input to service users.
The post holder would receive line management and clinical supervision from the Psychological Therapies Service (PTS) in Swindon. They would also be a part of the senior management team for PTS. The Psychological Therapies Service comprises a supportive team of Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists in CBT and Arts Therapists. We are an ageless service, with staff working from a number of bases across Swindon.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and highly motivated to provide a good quality, evidence based psychological service within a changing and challenging environment. They will have experience of working with individuals with complex psychological difficulties and risk issues within secondary care, and a proven commitment to the development of services for Later Life service users. They will enjoy working as part of a team and thrive on working under pressure.
