We are looking for an enthusiastic consultant psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership and psychiatric expertise to one of our Recovery Teams in Hammersmith and Fulham.
WEST LONDON MENTAL HEALTH NHS TRUST (WLMHT) WLMHT is one of the largest most diverse mental health services in the UK, employing around 3,500 staff who are providing care and treatment for around 20,000 people each year and serving a local population of approximately 700,000 residents in the boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow.
THE POST The successful applicant will be based in the Cardinal centre in Hounslow and will join an established multidisciplinary team, including another consultant psychiatrist. They will provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and treatment of persons with severe enduring mental health needs. They will liaise closely with the Single Point of Access (SPA) and Primary Care Mental Health Team to facilitate smooth transitions into and out of secondary care. Other key working relationships will be with local GPs, the Crisis Assessment and Treatment (CAT) team, the Early Intervention Team and the inpatient service.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years experience of working in mental health, have good communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to community care for people with mental illness, and be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and flexibly with a multi professional team.
Candidates should be a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (or equivalent), and have their CCT or be eligible for inclusion on specialist registrar.
The roles report directly to the Clinical Director and Service Manager.
