King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals with a turnover of nearly £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 11,500 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London.
The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley.
We are seeking to recruit two Senior Clinical Fellows in Neonatology to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit @ King’s. The post offers the opportunity to advance the successful candidate’s neonatal training and administrative skills in a teaching hospital environment in preparation for entering a SpR training programme.
The Newborn Unit at King’s College hospital is a Level III unit and is recognised as one of two Level III Perinatal Centres in the SE London neonatal network. Its subspecialties include respiratory medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, and thoracic, abdominal and ophthalmic surgery. Currently there are 24 ITU/HDU cots and 12 SCBU cots with over 800 admissions per annum. The unit has an international reputation for its research directed by Prof Anne Greenough.
This post is suitable for Paediatric Doctors who have middle grade experience of working in a level III surgical neonatal unit, evidence of achievement of ST4 competencies in paediatrics at the time of appointment and eligibility to work in the UK. MRCPCH is highly desirable. All posts are New Contract compliant.
