At an exciting time here in Barts Health we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced senior clinician to lead our adult acute and rehabilitation Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) services at our Whipps Cross (WX) and Newham University Hospital (NUH) sites, including Waltham Forest community SLT services. There are a team of 9.7 wte SLTs and part time rehabilitation support worker colleagues. As a Speech and Language Therapist with extensive experience in the area of adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders , you will be able to offer clinical expertise in the area of instrumental assessment of swallowing and experienced in training others in clinical skills development.
We are seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experience in clinically leadership and the ability to influence a team and engage others with vision and strategy for a clinical service.
This person will demonstrate credible and compassionate leadership with the ability to influence amongst peers and senior colleagues within and external to Barts Health. As part of the therapies senior clinical leadership team on two of our hospital sites you will contribute to the Therapies service delivery on the WX and NUH sites on a day to day basis, supporting the site based Deputy Head of Therapies on these sites.
This will include clinical services delivery, performance and governance across specialties whilst upholding our Barts Health We Care values. Barts Health offers you the opportunity of joining a large team of SLTs across five sites including a Voice, Head and Neck Oncology team and community services, with regular supervision and in service professional development opportunities. We offer excellent leadership and development opportunities.
You would join our cross site Clinical Lead SLT group who with the Deputy Head of Therapies, Professional Lead SLT support our group of SLTs across sites. We are seeking a dynamic individual able to meet the challenges of nurturing a team and service development, able to accommodate future NHS provision needs for the local population in partnership with our patients. This is reflected in our agreed Therapies and SLT team objectives commensurate with our Barts Health vision and values that you would lead on implementing.
