Are you a band 5 Occupational Therapist ready to develop the next stage of your career in a supportive environment? The Newham University Hospital Band 6 rotation provides the ideal opportunity to consolidate your acute hospital Occupational Therapy skills whilst developing your leadership skills.
Newham University Hospital is the smallest of the Barts Health NHS hospital sites. With three band 7 Occupational Therapist and one occupational therapists leading the inpatient Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy team, this unique environment provides the ideal opportunity to develop as an occupational therapist at a band 6 level. The across site band 6 occupational therapy training programme provides education and support to develop skills in supervision, staff management and evidence based practice.
The Newham University Hospital rotation provides a fantastic basis to enhance and develop your clinical skills. The band 6 rotations at the Newham University Hospital site include:
- Orthopaedic Trauma and Elective
The service operates a seven day service covering core hours between 8am and 6pm. You will need to be a versatile, adaptable team player who is prepared to work across a 7 day rota.
Working as an Occupational Therapists at Newham University Hospital provides the opportunity to develop your acute occupational therapy assessment and early intervention skills whilst working closely with community and social services to ensure patients receive care in the correct location.
The occupational therapy service has a supportive education programme and robust personal development programme to support staff in their learning and development. To support continued learning and development all Occupational Therapists participate in joint clinical sessions with their peers.
