We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield as Lead Psychologist on a 12 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. This role is full time (40hours per week) working across our General Adolescent services Peak View.
As part of one of the UK’s largest independent providers of mental health care, Cygnet Hospital Sheffield offers low secure and mental health rehabilitation services for women and CAMHS services for male and female adolescents over four distinct wards. Peak View is a 15 bed general adolescent acute service, providing support for young people both male and female and is focused on helping them return home. Workis dedicated to helping them maintain their school placements if possible and admissions can be either formal or informal. Having a PICU and general adolescent acute service on one site provides a clear therapeutic pathway through the services.
As a practitioner psychologist, provide clinical input and hold a client caseload within a specific area/team on the adult service. To provide clinical and leadership in the systematic provision of a high quality specialist psychology service to patients at Cygnet Sheffield, across all aspects of care. To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychologists and other clinical members of the service who provide psychologically-based care and treatment. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service/teams. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research and propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the teams/service. To contribute to the overall management of the service and the development of the model of care.

In this role you will:
- Recruit and develop the provision of clinical psychology within Cygnet Hospital Sheffield. To ensure the provision of highly specialist psychological assessment, intervention and treatment within a Recovery framework. Supervise clinical psychologists, offering advice and consultation on service users’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non professional carers.
- Develop the psychology services across the three sites to ensure consistency of quality ensuring that recovery and the QIP agenda are demonstrated through the use of outcome measures, as key components of the services offered within Cygnet.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the company’s policies and procedures, utilising research skills for audit, policy, service development and research to demonstrate achieved outcomes at the hospital at Sheffield.
