JustOT is recruiting for a paediatric OT for a leading NHS service based Kent. The Foundation Trust is a public benefit corporation authorised under the National Health Service Act 2006. It operates a single site hospital based in Gillingham serving a population of more than Apply across Medway and Swale.
The provide clinical services to almost half a million patients a year, including Apply Emergency Department attendances, 62,000 inpatient admissions, over Apply outpatient attendances and more than 5,000 babies were born at the hospital last year.
Band 7 Occupational therapist Kent
Salary 30K-40K DOE
Part time 18 hours a week
You will undertake a lead role in planning co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Occupational Therapy service to Paediatrics in the Unplanned and Integrated care Directorate. You will manage the delegation of referrals to Occupational Therapy from the Woman's Health service
As an autonomous practitioner, to take a major role in the advanced assessment and treatment of children within the speciality who may have acute, complex and/or chronic presentations, to determine clinical diagnosis and therapy treatment indicated. The promotion of therapy intervention to provide seamless therapy care.
To teach, supervise and formally assess undergraduate BSc and MSc Occupational Therapy students on placement.
*Specialist Occupational Therapist in Paediatrics
*Co-ordination of the women's health referrals to Occupational Therapy
*To take an active role in the operational management of the Paediatric and Women's health team under the leadership of the Therapy Team Leader, deputising in their absence.
*7 day working patterns apply, which may involve extended hours
*Rotations to relevant clinical areas may be possible
To be considered for this role -
*Degree in Occupational Therapy
*Current Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC) Registration
*Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy
*Knowledge of a wide range of approaches to the management of children in Paediatrics, demonstrated by advanced clinical reasoning
*Awareness of Paediatric community and support services
