Applications are invited for the post of Junior Specialist Doctor in Emergency Medicine at Standard level to start Feb 2019 until August 2019.
The post offers educational support which includes access to FY2 and Core Training sessions, a portfolio / portfolio support, a dedicated Clinical Tutor and monthly Clinical Skills Lectures. There is a Head of Education for JSD’s and a JSD Clinical Tutor specifically appointed to assist in the training and career development of non-trainees Doctors.
The initial post will take place in Accident & Emergency. This Department is one of three Level one trauma centres in the West Midlands region. It is the responsibility of A&E StR’s / JSD’s to assess patients attending the department, except for those patients accepted by other specialities (ie, lodged patients). A&E StR 1-2 doctors are responsible for initiating the resuscitation and treatment of those patients whom they assess. All JSD’s will work a full shift rota. The A&E Department operates a computerised records system and all staff are required to comply with data entry
