Barts Pharmaceuticals are established NHS acute Trust supplying specials to over 140 customers across the UK and Southern Ireland. Our Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit (PMU) based in The Royal London Hospital holds a Specials Manufacturing License and Investigational Medicinal Products (IMP) License.
We have the unique opportunity to offer a Quality Control (QC) manager post to an enthusiastic and motivated individual who wishes to develop their technical knowledge through working in busy units.
This is a potential rotational post across three sites including St Bartholomew’s Hospital, The Royal London Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospital. The three sites combined provide cytotoxic, parenteral nutrition, sterile manufactured products, CIVAS, Specials and Over-labelling and re-packaging to a variety of wards and clinics within the hospitals and to over 200 customers throughout the UK and Ireland.
This post aims to oversee the management and direction of a team of analytical chemists and directing the activities of the laboratory, this role will require to liaising with third parties regularly and discussing areas like QC & Microbiological testing and QC reports.
This role will evaluate raw materials, intermediates and final products in terms of their fitness for purpose, managing the validation of QC analytical methods & equipment, maintaining the QC laboratory in terms of its equipment, consumables, and health and safety and managing the change controls in QC as well as being the QC representative for audits. This role will approve Certificates of Analysis (CofA), review and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and prepare QC trending reports, as well the retention and archive of QC records.
This post will also ensure that the QC team is up to date with training and QC staff receives continues training, preparing training modules and conducting training sessions.
