The Emergency Department at Denmark Hill Site is looking for part time Customer Care Officers to join our busy and exciting team.
Our Customer Care Officers play a crucial role in providing front-line service to our local communities and in ensuring the smooth running of this department.
Your main duties will include registering all patients attending the department and the accurate recording of Emergency Department admissions data in a timely manner.
The main areas you will be covering are the Major Treatment Area or our Urgent Care Centre however this may change dependent on the needs of the service.
Applicants must be self-motivated and proactive, with excellent communication skills. The ability to deal courteously and efficiently with staff, patients and visitors in a tolerant and tactful manner is essential, as well as to stay calm and good humoured at all times. Common sense, a willingness to learn are essential attributes applicants will require for this post. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly in order to meet the needs of the service and have a good understanding of IT systems.
The post holder will be required to provide cover for annual leave and sickness of colleagues, often at short notice and be aware the service we provide is 24/7, 365 days a year.
Shifts patterns are fixed and include weekends and Bank Holidays with enhancement for working weekends and General Public Holidays.
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience of working as a receptionist in a busy NHS environment and evidence of administrative skills is essential. Working knowledge of computer packages to ECDL or proven equivalent experience in MS Package is essential.
Training is available for the use of our in-house computers systems, Symphony and Patient Information Management System. Please note this may close earlier than advertised once sufficient applications have been received.
