Salary £22k-£28k dependent on experience
Our client requires a Band 5 Radiographer to work within the NHS in Hull, Humberside.
To work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing a high quality diagnostic radiographic service whilst maintaining high standards of patient care.
To ensure that practice is carried out in accordance with department policies and protocols.
To assist in the supervision and teaching of junior staff and students
To undertake all general radiographic procedures and acquire a good level of skill and knowledge in all aspects of radiology encountered on the general radiographic rotation.
Undertake all plain film examinations in general radiography - including mobiles, theatre and fluoroscopy using established departmental guidelines, policies and procedures
Achieve and maintain a high standard of Radiographic technique, selecting imaging
modalities and techniques appropriate to suit the needs of the patient and ease diagnosis for the referring Applypile a personal and professional portfolio in conjunction with the PPDR process and undertake reflective practice
Actively participate in the induction of new employees, which may include mentorship and provision of training Provide regular training in radiography to students and junior members of staff.
Act as a student mentor for Leeds University radiography students on clinical rotation, completing assessment documents as required
Utilise the department RMS system so as to maintain the electronic management of a patient throughout their time in the department and enter required data as specified in the department policy
Assist in the departmental Quality Assurance Programme and to be actively involved in future developments
Move and handle patients, x-ray equipment, moving and handling devices and other medical equipment provided safely and correctly
Develop and maintain effective dialogue between patients, departmental staff and all referring clinical areas
Exercise judgment and empathy when dealing with patient enquiries and to resolve patient problems
Liaise and report regularly with the Senior 1 radiographers
Provide information and advice to patients, relatives and other medical staff about radiation safety and radiation issues
Communicate to patients and visitors in an empathic and reassuring manner so as to enable the radiological examinations to be undertaken and diagnosis or treatment to be provided.
