Superintendent and Supervising Pharmacist
The superintendent pharmacist (who will also be the supervising pharmacist) will work with pharmacy staff, the wider pharmacy network, and will be responsible for the provision of pharmacy services to a number of dedicated Homecare and Outpatient programmes.
The key objectives of the role will be to:
Take full responsibility for ensuring that appropriate policies and procedures are in place and implemented within the pharmacy in order to achieve legislative compliance
Govern every aspect of the sale and supply of medicinal products.
Promote the rational and safe use of medicines in the interests of patients and ensure that appropriate assessments, interventions, information and advice are made available for each individual patient and service user.
Support ongoing training and development of the pharmacy staff.
Manage associated budgets.
Play an active role in the tendering, aquisition, implementation and project management of relevent new healthcare programmes.
Act as data controller for the Pharmacy.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
Pharmacy degree and at least five years post registration experience.
Hospital pharmacy or Homecare pharmacy experience desirable.
Wholesale experience desirable but not essential. A sound knowledge of GDP would be an advantage.
Strong clinical pharmacy knowledge
Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel)
Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to
motivate a team to deliver on targets.
Experience in project management desirable
Organised and flexible with a proven ability to multi-task successfully in a busy environment.
Business acumen and excellent problem solving ability, looking for ways to overcome blocks and implement solutions.
Ability to build strong internal relationships with teams and external stakeholders stakeholders.
Flexibility - weekend work and out of hours cover may be required on rotation.
